What to Expect

Each piece is made to hold up, in the studio, in transit and on your wall for decades. This is what goes into it.

❋ Canvas

Heavyweight cotton canvas, 312–370 g/m², medium grain. I paint on the raw reverse side rather than the white primed face, so the warm, natural tone of the cotton becomes part of the work.

❋ Paint

Mixed media: acrylic, oil pastel and dry pastel, using colours from Sennelier, Lefranc Bourgeois and Van Gogh.

❋ Finish

The whole surface is sealed with several coats of fixative. Mixed-media pieces are not varnished, because varnish would smudge the pastel layers. Each canvas then rests until fully dry before it is packed.

Stretching

Every canvas is stretched by a professional framing workshop onto solid pine stretcher bars. From 70×100 cm upwards, a cross brace keeps the frame square and the canvas taut over time. Wooden keys sit in every corner, so the canvas can be re-tensioned if it ever loosens. Edges are painted or finished with tape, and the back is sealed with kraft tape. Every piece arrives ready to hang, no frame needed.

❋ Works on paper

100% cotton paper by Fabriano and Arches. Shipped rolled in a rigid tube.

❋ Packing & delivery

Wrapped in stretch film, then bubble wrap or corrugated card, with corner protectors. Canvases are delivered by a specialised courier.

❋ Signature & authenticity

Signed on the front and on the back. Each piece comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

❋ Care

Hang away from direct sunlight and damp. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush. No cloths or cleaning products, as the surface contains pastel.
